Chris's background

Chris finished Year 12 at Westfields Sports High School in 2017 with an ATAR of 94.45, including top-band results in Mathematics, Mathematics Extension 1, Business Studies and Industrial Technology. He went on to complete a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Sydney, majoring in Finance and Business Analytics, and worked in corporate finance and analytics before turning his passion for education into Rubix.

He started tutoring in 2017, first as a private tutor, and founded Rubix Learning in 2021.

Why Chris started Rubix

Chris started Rubix Learning because he believes education is the key to unlocking opportunities, as it was for him. He wanted to work on something that benefits society and gives students the same opportunities he had.

He also believes the effort students put into Years 11 and 12 opens the door to whatever they want to do after school, and that every student deserves the right support to get there.

How Chris runs Rubix

  • He trains every tutor. Every Rubix tutor is trained by Chris and completes Rubix's onboarding before teaching.
  • Every tutor is safety checked. Every Rubix tutor must hold a current Working With Children Check (a blue card in Queensland).
  • He matches each student with a tutor. Chris looks at each child's year, subjects and goals before choosing their tutor. If the first tutor isn't the right fit, families can trial a different tutor at no charge.
  • Parents stay in the loop. Families get a summary after every lesson and a detailed progress report every 10 lessons.
  • Results. In the 2025 HSC, 241 of 288 Rubix students (84%) got a Band 6 or E4 in the subject they were tutored in.
  • Free help for every student. Rubix publishes free study guides for Years 10 to 12 and runs The Rubix Launchpad, a free online study community for high school students.

"Chris has been very professional throughout and made sure that the tutor was the right fit for my daughter… We wholeheartedly recommend Rubix Learning to any parent looking for a team that truly cares about their child." — Mohita S., parent of a 2026 HSC student (Google review)
