Science can be a daunting subject for some students, so our Science tutors are here to help students with their knowledge and skills and to build their confidence for their assessments at school. We offer online Science tutoring for students in primary school and high school in years 7-10. We also offer Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Earth and Environmental Science for students in their preliminary and HSC years of high school.
For our online Science tutoring sessions, we use Google Meet or Zoom to ensure the session is as interactive as possible. These video chat platforms ensure we can use a virtual whiteboard, and both students and tutors can interact by sharing their screen to make the processes of online tutoring the same as face-to-face sessions!
We stick to the school syllabus and cover concepts in the same order that they learn it at school, to keep their learning consistent. Our Science tutors can help you or your child excel in the following areas, or any others that you feel you may need guidance in, including but not limited to:
- For years 7-10, developing knowledge and understanding on:
- Physical World
- Earth and Space
- Chemical World
- Developing scientific skills such as:
- Problem Solving
- Processing and analysing data and information
- Planning and conducting investigations
- Questioning and predicting
- Developing knowledge on course content for Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Earth and Environmental Science.
- Developing scientific skills for preliminary and HSC students.
Our Science tutors are able to go at a pace that suits the student, to ensure that they are keeping up with the content. Upon commencing tutoring sessions, the student will receive a resource folder that will include past exam papers, exam tips and study guide sheets. The aim of this resource folder is to help students solidify their knowledge through practising in a way that will be familiar to them when it comes to exam time at school.
Tutors will conduct a progress exam with the student after the completion of every topic, to understand where the student is sitting and whether any concepts need to be revisited.
Homework will also be given to students after their tutoring sessions to further their knowledge and skills, unless the student is struggling with their workload and a parent notifies us that it’s not required.
