Primary school students in years 3 and 5, and high school students in years 7 and 9 complete a NAPLAN exam once a year. The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) assesses a student’s skills in various aspects of English and Maths, and aims to identify where each student is sitting based on their results in comparison to their cohort at school and on a national level. NAPLAN results may give an insight as to whether a student is on-track academically, or may need some help in refining their skills.
Our online NAPLAN tutoring sessions are held over Google Meet or Zoom; whichever platform works best for the tutor and student. The video call format helps the student and tutor to build a relationship, and also allows for interaction between teacher and student through the use of a digital whiteboard and the ability to share desktop screens.
Our private English and Maths tutors can help students prepare for their upcoming NAPLAN exams by focusing on skills such as, but not limited to:
- Reading skills
- Grammar skills
- Spelling skills
- Writing skills
- Numeracy skills
Our tutors will set homework for students to help them practice and prepare for their assessments, unless otherwise specified by a parent. Once tutoring sessions have started, students will receive a resource folder with past NAPLAN papers, exam questions and answers and study guides and tips. These resources aim to help students understand what will be assessed, and familiarise themselves with exam style questions.
